Summary
Water & Air Research, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated professional that independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard professional techniques and procedures related to the assessment and remediation of petroleum contaminated sites in a fast-paced environment. This individual will work independently on small projects, and assist on larger, more complex projects; takes responsibility for planning and executing work assignments.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements project plans and schedules; reviews project accounts; assigns, oversees, and evaluates project staff; and communicates with clients.
- Creates budgets, designs scope of work, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, produces moderately complex designs, and may conduct presentations.
- Manages, coordinates, and reviews fieldwork of technicians and junior staff; may perform fieldwork including sampling monitoring wells, overseeing monitoring well installation, screening soil samples, and overseeing remediation system installations.
- Evaluates project data to define contamination extent, develops feasibility recommendations for remediation, and performs key data analysis.
- Drafts project and proposal documents, including maintaining and updating plans, permits, and SOPs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related science field.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience with the FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP).
- Experience with project management.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Geologist (PG) certification highly desired.
- Proficiency in assessments, data analysis, and report writing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with clients and team members.
- Travel will be dependent on project demands.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
